It is up to you, the user, to choose whether to continue receiving texts throughout the season – you can stop your participation at any time by texting 'stop' to 07972843051.
Because we understand the danger of invading privacy through SMS marketing, we intend to comply with regulations that have been set by the Mobile Marketing Association. As a Code of Conduct for content providers, advertisers, brands, technology partners and carriers which is engineered around the perceived definition of spam and includes technology enforcement mechanisms that will give the industry the power to self-regulate.
The code of conduct is broken down into six C's of privacy:
Therefore it is in our interests to offer the users of Eventext the choice to receive the messages. We will send them information regarding the events and offers only if they opt in.
Users will have the control to opt in and out of receiving our texts whenever they choose, as well as the ability to have a constraint on the number of eventexts they receive.
We may offer competitions to users to encourage their participation. Our users must feel as though they are receiving a level of value by taking part.
In accordance to the rules of pull advertising, the user should have the option to request further information via the initial registration text message.
We will make the user aware of what they have opted-in to by initially connecting to the service, and that they are able to opt out of that campaign or start another, whenever they choose.
Although once this connection has been made, and we have received a confirmed opt-in by the user, we will send a message to remind the user that they have the option to fully register via the internet.
It is only through the confirmed opt-in that we will then use the push advertising, having obtained the permission of the user.
The user will be made aware that they must supply their details. Initially, this will be their contact mobile number should they just opt for the reminder eventexts without completing the full registration on our web site. However, more personal details will be required through the full registration process, again, with the consent of the consumer for us to hold this information with complete confidentiality.
We will also inform the users that their details may be requested for advertising further events in the city that may appeal to them. This will depend on the permission of the user.
